<![CDATA[So I've been involved with this secret project in the Doom community for some time, and just recently it's become public. Its name is Odamex. My role is to maintain the web site, since it obviously runs on Noxel power. If you like Doom, it's worth checking out.

I'd like to type more but I don't feel in the blogging mood. I only put this up here because I was forced to by the Pig Farmers of Canada. ]]>

<![CDATA[Cheapalert is currently working on OpenArena which aims to provide GPL resources for the GPL source to Quake 3. At the 11th hour so to speak, he cheapy approached me with a request to provide the announcer work for it. I had done similar work for Skulltag (a doom deathmatch port), so I gave it a shot. Since it was rather last minute I can't say it's my best work, but it gets the job done. The current version is also still in the "alpha" stages so it's quite possible that I'll do another rendition before too long.

You can check out OpenArena on the Mod Database. ]]>

<![CDATA[Instead of rewriting what I wrote last night, I'll just link you to this:
http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35579

The Doom Community has been extremely helpful and understanding, and while it isn't the first place I'd go to for non-doom stuff, in this case those that I have helped (and even those I haven't) have REALLY come through. At the time of this writing people have donated about $475 out of my rough goal of $1000. That's in 2 DAYS. Simply amazing. To everyone that has donated, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! When I have the funds gathered the drive in question will be sent off to a company for data recovery. I will have to buy a new drive, but I don't think I'll shy away from western digital; they've been a good brand for me. However, I think my next drive might be a Seagate. ]]>

I THINK things are kinda back to how they were, but some stuff like the input fields aren't quite how I'd like. <![CDATA[I told one Jon Dowland over IRC that if I were to ever actually start a blog I'd right the software for myself.

So I did.

It's a work in progress, and YES it emulates some nice things about wordpress (tho perhaps not as elegantly... yet...), but overall it's functional enough that I told Jon to put it on his newsdot metablog. The RSS feeds are fully wordpress-compliant (yay) so it should work out well. One of my hobbies is building websites, so this site in itself is one of my projects. As such, content will be added over time. For the moment I've been focusing on the blog portion.

If there's any problems that you find, please feel free to email me. ]]>
